The Reid & Hellyer Difference
Our law firm has been able to thrive for over a century based on a simple philosophy: Provide the highest level of legal representation to our clients, and do so in the most cost-effective manner possible. We strongly believe in the obligation to put our clients’ interests ahead of all others, including our own. Our clients always come first. Period. Integrity and ethics are the cornerstone of our practice, and we strive to maintain our impeccable reputation within the Southern California legal community.
Reid & Hellyer is in some respects a throwback to a by-gone era. We consider our firm to be a second family, as most of the attorneys have worked only at Reid & Hellyer. Under the firm’s leadership, Reid & Hellyer has continued to enjoy a reputation as one of the most respected law firm names in Southern California.
Our origins date back to 1897 with the founding of the San Bernardino firm of Surr and Hellyer. In 1985, a merger of Surr and Hellyer and the Riverside firm of Reid, Babbage and Coil, formed in 1964, combined two of the preeminent firms in Southern California. Since the merger, construction and business law attorney Tom Miller and bankruptcy attorney Mark Schnitzer have joined the firm. We pride ourselves on continuing the tradition of our founding firms by providing professional, comprehensive legal service to individuals and businesses of national, regional and local prominence.
Our leadership and commitment to the Inland Empire is not restricted to the legal community. Our attorneys sit on numerous boards and commissions in Riverside and San Bernardino Counties, for the State Bar of California, and we support a wide variety of local organizations and activities aimed at improving the quality of life in our respective communities.
And, finally, our main office in downtown Riverside is centrally located, providing easy access to the five courthouses located in the downtown Justice Center.
Community Involvement
Reid & Hellyer continues to give back to the Inland Empire and the greater Southern California area.
